ruffles & Flourishes Catering & Event Planning is solely owned by Robin Collins, a native San Franciscan, who started the company part time in 1976 while she worked as an account executive at a large advertising agency. Formerly a restaurant critic for San Francisco Magazine, Robin has extensive experience in two other service industries - travel and fashion - and is currently at work on a book about the food business, entitled "The Perils of Pralines".

As Truffles & Flourishes Executive Chef, Robin remains totally "hands on" in her management style, continually developing new recipes, haunting her kitchen late at night to keep her "secret sauces" a secret, and is as likely to be found at a party brandishing pots and pans at the stove as she is manning a walkie talkie to confer with her troops of service staff at a large event.

Over the years, Truffles & Flourishes Catering & Event Planning has evolved from a one women band into a full service party production company capable of handling events all over the United States for as many as 5,000 guests. Our in house divisions for staffing, rental, floral and decor were developed primarily to enhance what has always been at the core of our business - great food, beautifully presented. She also does television and film work and has completed an audition video for Bon Appetit Magazine. Frequently mentioned in Herb Caen and the society columns, Robin is a highly visible member of the community who regularly contributes to the Opera, Symphony and Ballet, as well as many charity organizations. A member of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau, San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary, and The Commonwealth Club, Robin sits on the board of the San Francisco Clean City Coalition. Truffles & Flourishes Catering and Event Planning maintains a fully licensed, health department approved kitchen facility.
